Faith-based children's book celebrates strengths of neurodiverse kids
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. - SCaroNews -- Educator, advocate, and new author Jessica Vaught has officially launched Penzie Press, LLC, with the release of its debut children's book, The Rainbow Pencil. The story blends creativity, faith, and heart to encourage children—especially those with learning differences—to embrace their gifts and believe in the masterpiece God created them to be.
For Jessica, the project is deeply personal. As a child, she struggled with traditional learning methods and often felt left behind in the classroom. By creating visuals, charts, and color-coded flashcards, she developed her own learning strategies—techniques that later shaped her career and passion for advocacy. Those early struggles inspired her to write a story that reassures children of all abilities that their differences are a source of strength.

"Writing The Rainbow Pencil was my way of turning personal struggles and loss into a message of hope for children," said Jessica Vaught. "Every child deserves to see themselves as a masterpiece—unique, capable, and full of promise."
"At Publish Pros, we love seeing authors like Jessica turn personal challenges into stories that inspire. The Rainbow Pencil is a perfect example of how creativity and faith can shape books that truly matter." — Rich Carnahan, Founder of Publish Pros
The Rainbow Pencil is now available on Amazon and other online book retailers.
